Desire-Healing Shanshui (Landscape) is a contemporary work that traverses jewellery, landscape, Buddhist philosophy, and installation. Rooted in Eastern thought, it integrates the Zen practice of contemplative stillness with the Tantric principle of transformation, embodied through the melting and cooling of lampworked glass. In this process, the microcosm of shanshui—literally “mountains and waters,” the traditional Chinese notion of landscape—is reimagined as a wearable contemplation.
The work is both an artistic expression and a quiet response to the present: in a culture of liquid modernity, it resists not through confrontation but through gestures of contemplation, fluidity, and inner repose. As a form of oneness, it dissolves the boundaries between jewellery and installation, body and landscape, individual and cosmos—translating Eastern philosophy into a contemporary artistic language and inviting viewers to find stillness within movement.
