Tide Stillness is an interactive installation that merges Buddhist meditation with emotional healing, using lampworked glass as its core medium to explore the unheard emotions of liquid modernity.
Integrating Buddhist philosophy, jewellery, and installation, the work employs a self-developed lampworking technique to capture the fluidity, fragility, and plasticity of glass in fire. Interwoven with light, gravity, mirrors, and natural gemstones, it creates a psychoscape that shifts like the tide—cyclical and ever-changing. Suspended fragments of glass sway, entwine, collide, and reassemble, embodying the rhythms of emotion, the uncertainty of identity, and the impermanence of the future.
The arrangement of mirrors and crystals, inspired by Zen aesthetics and landscapes, serves as both spatial reflection and inner projection. The viewer’s shadow appears and dissolves within the interplay of glass and light, revealing forgotten fragments of the self between emptiness and form.
More than a jewellery installation, this work is a dialogue with the mind. It invites each visitor to enter a moment of “stillness,” to encounter their own unheard emotions and to discover a fleeting sense of healing and return.
